Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music (NZSM) at Victoria University of Wellington offers an outstanding range of possibilities for the study of music at tertiary level.

NZSM offers courses in Classical Performance, Composition and Sonic Arts, Jazz and Music Studies as well as the only post-graduate degree in Music Therapy offered in NZ.

Our distinguished staff are professionally active, both in NZ and internationally, and they bring the benefits of this experience and expertise to their teaching.

NZSM hosts and presents in excess of 200 events each year, the vast majority of which are free to the public. These include masterclasses, seminars, forums and composer workshops with visiting artists and academics, as well as concert performances including chamber music, jazz combo, big band, orchestra, opera and gamelan.
Artists in Residence at NZSM include the New Zealand String Quartet, the Te Kōkī Trio and the Jack C Richards/Creative New Zealand Composer in Residence.
